The ideas that flowed from the folks that wrote our Constitution were actually well thought out on morality. In those days a man was measured by his word based on the Judeo-Christian framework. The Founders did not intend to create a temporary standard for a new nation. They wrote it out in a way that would endure. Rules were put in place for change but the underlying principles were expected to continue.

But wait, what about our increasingly lax society of today? How can we expect to thrive when we no longer agree on Judeo-Christian values and ethics? The simple answer is we cannot. For those who think we should operate under a different standard, I ask what should it be?

If you replace the Judeo-Christian ethic what do you replace it with? Let’s take a look at the modern world under other major world religions.

  • Under Islam rights for women, minorities, and those with sexual dysphoria can be beaten, imprisoned, or put to death.
  • Under Hinduism, you face the Cast System which does not give people the right to move up in the world. If you are born poor you stay poor.
  • Buddhism is an offshoot of Hinduism. It has no moral absolutes. Good and evil do not exist. It is pacifistic and does not try to improve the life of people but rather accepts what is regardless of the consequences.  As pacifists, Buddhist nations cannot exist without the cooperation and permission of those around them.
  • Under Humanism, we are faced with an ever-changing standard based on the whims of those in power at the time.

I have often said that any system of government works if everyone is Jesus Christ. The problem is we are not! It is just that simple.
