Marriage: What’s in it for men?

Statistics show that fewer men are willing to marry. While this is a disturbing trend there are reasons. Women file for divorce at a rate approaching 70% versus men. When women file for divorce they get at least half of everything even when they do not deserve it. No wonder men look at marriage differently.

If you search the “interwebs” on this subject you will find lots of reasons given by various people. That is not the subject here. The important thing to know is the way we do marriage in the 20th and 21st Century in America is failing.

A single solution might be found in prenuptial agreements. Years ago I read about something called Covenant Marriage. It is only available in three states, Arizona, Arkansas & Louisiana. It is mainly done for religious reasons. However, a prenup can contain the same things in any state as long as both parties agree.

Often times when women are confronted with a prenup they feel insulted. This has to end if we are ever going to encourage marriage. Most of the time a woman has everything to gain and the man has everything to lose. In reality, a prenup can hold both the man and the woman to account. What man wants a prenup if it states his wife walks away with everything if he cheats, physically abuses her or the children et cetera?

We cover more than that in this video.
