Mac and Mike discuss equity versus equality. Definitions keep changing but don’t be fooled. Those who demand “equity” are not envisioning the normal view of “equality”.
The one has to do with opportunity and the other with the outcome. The historic view of America has been we all have a right to start from a point of view of the opportunity. If we start demanding equal outcome then everything will suffer in our general society.
What gives anyone the right to have the same things as someone who has worked for those things? Can a society exist that takes this point of view? No, and it has never worked in any country at any time. The Communists and Socialists promised and failed multiple times.
Think about it. Public Schools and Public Housing are about as nice as Public Restrooms. A Public run basketball game that ensured “equity” would have players under 5 feet tall! That’s equity.
