Previously in the post, Elon Musk and Twitter Offer Mac and I spoke about the potential purchase of Twitter by Musk and the return of free speech to the internet. Now that the purchase has been approved things are heating up. Mac and I wonder what is behind all the hysteria.
Sure, some people will be losing their jobs since free speech does not need as many people to manipulate the system. However, Twitter employs fewer than 7,000 people worldwide. That cannot be the cause for the hysteria.
It must have something to do with the ramifications of free speech. Twitter is going to become more conservative for sure. In the way that being pro-life is the domain of conservatives the same is true of free speech. There will now be a cross-examination of the ideas of the left. That is what they fear the most. The claims of misinformation are a smokescreen.
In response, the Department of Homeland Security is creating The Ministry of Truth. For younger folks that is a phrase out of the book 1984 by George Orwell. If you haven’t read the book and you don’t think you will take the time try to at least watch the movie.
